Feeling Settled and Making Progress

I love to see the temple.
I'm going there someday.

Did you see the new figure that came out recently? There are 88,500 missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all over the world. We are so excited to be a part of that AND to have 3 grandsons serving. The fourth grandson just started at home MTC and will attend MTC training in Provo in just two weeks! Mike's grandson, Blake, will be coming home later this month after two years of service in the Phillipines. Hearts full of gratitude.

We have so many opportunties to serve in unique ways! Our mission is most definitely not the kind we usually think of serving. Sometimes the best part is how others try to classify us. Mike's calling is pretty straight forward. Mine? Not so much. Let's face it. I don't mind others not being able to put me into a traditional slot, so to speak. My work with the history department is unique in that I am already assigned to the South America South area and I research items that are already in the area.

The other missionaries researching artifacts simply go into a list and take the next one to research. The idea is for me to be the guinea pig to see if assigning missionaries to an area is a workable idea. I foresee there being a mix of artifact missionaries, some will research random objects on a list and others will be assigned to specific areas that have been collecting artifacts in their area.

I also teach two groups of missionaries in the South America South area English Connect, Level 3. I love those missionaries. They are an amazing group and they are willing to learn. One of them is from Bolivia. He is 25 years old, had been a member of the church for just two years before coming on a mission. Missionaries can call home once a week but he doesn't do that. He does call but not every week because his parents and brother don't understand the importance of his service and how excited he gets when a new person is found to teach.

Who has a doctor with this in their office?
Mike does!

The doctor and his kids are very into super heros too!

Mike has had a couple of doctor's appointments. It appears that it's a matter of medication adjustments and a new one was added. It will take some time before we know if the new one is fully effective but we are optimistic. He is certainly doing better overall.

We have hit a glitch with getting Medicare restarted. Frustrating. The federal government doesn't make anything easy, that's for sure.

Thank you for reading. We love you and miss you.
