We are Definitely in the Big City

You know you are in the big city when the grocery store has its own parking garage
and you see this cool car there!


Each week gets better and better. Getting settled takes more time than we realize but we are settled. The apartment is lovely, very well placed in the city, close to the things we need and most of those are within walking distance.

Because the ward to which we are assigned has so many widows, I have been assigned to minister to a couple of sisters in the ward. We are also assigned to minister to a new member. That's pretty darn cool. 

Looks like we have a good plan in place for Mike to get the health care he needs. It's taken a little bit of time and effort on our part, having to be more assertive, but we are on the right track. 

One of the cool things Mike gets to do once a month is meet via Google Meet with all the church attorneys worldwide. Think of that! Both paid attorneys and missionary attorneys meet and actually see each other. One of the things we have learned is how diverse and wide the church's legal needs are because of its international growth and influence.

Had lunch with the man who is responsible for many things but we know him because of his role as recruiting and assigning attorney missionaries all over the world. It was nice of him to invite us because he likely doesn't have time to do that for all the missionary couples. In the conversation, he asked that we keep notes about our experience of being reassigned and when our mission ends, we will send him a report about our experience. 

We are getting better acquainted with Elder and Sister Long, the couple assigned to the same ward as us. Their daughter is serving here too. She's a darling young woman who is doing incredible work. 

Isn't it fantastic to see all of these 18-year-old women being called to serve? They bring such light to the mission field! 

We are attending another grandson's farewell this Sunday. He will have two weeks At-Home MTC and then several weeks at the Provo MTC to learn French. He will serve in Paris, France.

Happy New Year!

  One of the many beautiful Nativity scenes we have seen this year. Argentines may not do much to do with Christmas in the lead up but their homes frequently feature the birth of Jesus.  It's been a while since I sent out a blog. I have to be inspired to have something to say. 😅 On January 5, we will be here six months, as missionaries almost seven months. Time flies. The folks leaving the mission in April, three couples, are all starting the process of setting up their lives at home.  Every couple in this group of senior missionaries has an amazing story to tell about how they got here.   Elder and Sister Dube, doctors who received a donation from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Elder and Sister Renlund, Elder and Sister Eduardo Gavarret Today was a Wow Day.  If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, you probably do not know that members of Quoram of 12 Apostles are assigned various areas across the globe to work with directly. This is a five year assignment. For the past week, Elder Dale G.
