Beautiful City of Trees
As fulltime missionaries, we try to keep away from the worldly things that interested us before we were called. However, as a group of senior missionaries, we do sometimes talk about current events in the U.S. The perspective is different here. We all have our views but we do agree that being here has helped us see, if we didn’t already, how far the media in the U.S. has moved away from reporting facts. Media’s ability and willingness to stir up emotion seems limitless. We pray for our country. We know that miracles can and will happen.
My friend, Bev, has been teaching Spanish speaking missionaries English. Later in February and into March, she and her husband have kids coming to visit so she has asked me to substitute. After that, I will likely be taking on this assignment for the Buenos Aires East mission. Looking forward to it. One of the best parts of being a missionary in our situation is that it is unconventional. Some people would not like it but we love it.
All the walking we do here is really helpful but I am equally grateful for UBER. The drivers are kind, their English is limited but somehow we figure it out.
We were told that this time of year is mosquito season. We brought insect repellant but haven't needed it yet. Fortunately.
The work on the 2025 historical report has begun in earnest. Since I've helped with one already, I am feeling more confident.
My Spanish is getting better. Wish my memory was improving. It is getting better. Nothing like learning a second language for keeping me humble.
In a couple of weeks, I'll be doing something on line that has been in my mind and on my heart for several weeks. Will keep you posted.
Thank you for your love and support. We love you all!
